The day we all wait for..

..has arrived! Beer fest bound, and I'm excited to try everything new that's come out this past year. I know there's a couple of Lake of Bays that I'm hitting up first.. and for posterity's sake the Guinness black lager too. See you there!

The Renaissance Brewing Company had four selects on the shelves of the lcbo I hit up this weekend.
I went for the two lighter ales instead of the ipa and imperial ipa.

The English Style Pale Ale was so unbelievably delicious. From first scent, and without reading the bottle, I immediately felt the toffee. It was drinking my childhood if my childhood consisted of state fairs and salt water taffy.

The American Style Pale Ale was really beautiful as well. It was lighter in body than an American IPA of course, but had the same notes and a nice light hoppy flavour.

I'm totally going back for the IPA and imperial IPA.

Augusta Ale, save it!

I was drinking Augusta Ale at Origin this weekend. From the can, the bar kept them really well and the smooth hoppy flavor came through nicely.
What I wasn't a fan of was the first server pouring the beer, come on, if you're going to spill half of it, maybe take a lesson or two before doing it in real life.

Aside from that, the local beer was great. I've had this beer on tap, but must say I prefer it in the can- best not to leave the taste to any tap.

A solid, smooth, 5.5% beer. And it went well with the delish summerlicious dinner Origin offered. Recommended!
